About Us

The Colleges’ Partnership is a joint venture company founded in 1998 and owned by Wiltshire College & University Centre and Bridgwater and Taunton College operating in over 70 locations across the UK and Europe with around 80 staff. Based in Blandford Forum, The Colleges’ Partnership holds several prestigious MOD contracts including the Royal Signals and Infantry, specialising in the provision of vocational training solutions, Apprenticeship management solutions and professional learning and development opportunities – delivered directly into the workplace.

Via Apprenticeships, Diplomas and NVQs, the workforce learn on the job, more effectively reinforcing the link between theory and practice and minimising disruption to day to day operations. We deliver training solutions to military, commercial and public sector clients throughout the UK and Europe.

Since 2005, we have supported over 14000 Apprentices to successfully achieve their qualification. We adapt our teaching and learning methods to meet the needs of our Learners who come from a diverse educational backgrounds. We have a wide range of flexible learning methodologies such as e portfolio, Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) which can be accessed globally using computers or mobile devices, online and resource-based learning materials. Our Blended Learning methodologies utilise conventional classroom delivery combined with a paper-based approach. We are leaders in the use of technology for learning and lead on national projects funded by the Department for Education through the Education Training Foundation.

We have a flexible and adaptable staffing structure that supports learners and have established offices in Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Cyprus and Germany and have delivered learner support at a range of operational sites including Canada, The Czech Republic, Brunei and Poland. We create new “hubs” or centres where necessary to ensure that we seamlessly meet the geographical disbursement of learners. Our delivery model is one of geographically dispersed assessors located either on site or local to the Apprentice with the qualifications and competence to assess all elements of the Framework or Standard. Our use of assessment teams based at the learner units allows a flexible approach to learner availability to accommodate changing operational requirements. Learners can access Assessors for guidance, support, advice and mentoring at any time.

Our employees are, without exception, high calibre personnel from the Civilian/Military sectors – our knowledge in the delivery of successful Apprenticeships has taught us that the employment of knowledgeable and skilled ex-Military staff in the relevant field provides the best and highest quality experience for the Learners. 

The TCP’s management team and Board have an exemplary track record in all aspects of strategic management. TCP’s governors and management are highly aspirational in their vision to create a culture that empowers learners and staff to excel. A team of Business support staff, including MIS, ICT and HR is centrally located at Blandford.
